Gladstone schools seek Backpack Buddy donations, partners

Gladstone High School needs donations of non-perishable foods to stock up its new community food pantry, a hub for the district’s Backpack Buddies program.  The program serves 75 struggling families, providing nutritious weekly food parcels.

Donors can deliver food items to the Gladstone High School office during school days at 18800 Portland Avenue. For more information, call program leader Leslie Robinette at 971.246.0302.

Needed donations include:
•  canned tuna or chicken
•  peanut butter
•  Jiffy corn muffin mix
•  chili or other hearty soups
•  rice
•  canned black beans, kidney beans, or refried beans
•  canned ravioli, stew, or sloppy joe mix
•  canned fruits, applesauce, and vegetables
•  spaghetti, noodles, or pasta
•  canned spaghetti sauce
