2013 Graduation Information

  • Rain or shine, graduation will go on! In the event of thunder or lightning, we will move graduation inside. In order to make sure the ceremony is visible to all, please no umbrellas.
  • Each graduate will receive ten tickets. If graduation is moved inside, tickets will be limited to four per graduate. Tickets will be color-coded for both venues.
  • Parents/guests will enter at the stadium gate on Barclay. All other entrances will be closed.
  • Parking and shuttle buses will be available at First Baptist Church on Caldwell and Gladstone Christian Church on Dartmouth. Shuttle buses will start running at 6:00 PM and will continue until 9:30 PM.
  • Starting at 6:00 PM, Portland Ave. will be closed from Abernethy to Barclay, and Barclay will have limited access.
  • The high school parking lot will be available until 6:00 PM. The back parking lot will be reserved for GHS staff.
  • Handicapped parking will be available at the GladstoneCenter for Children and Families.
  • For additional seating and handicapped seating, chairs will be set up on the track in front of the stadium. We ask that all parents and guests be seated throughout the ceremony.
  • For ease of movement, no sitting or standing in the aisle ways in the stadium.
  • Even though graduation is outdoors, this is a formal event. Please no noise makers, balloons, or loud disruptive behavior. Every parent wants to hear his/her student’s name read, and all graduates should be appreciated equally.
  • To participate in graduation, your senior must be considered “in good standing.” All fees need to be paid, all books returned (including library books), all graduation requirements met by 11:30 AM on May 31 and no suspensions or conduct issues.
  • Students must participate in the two scheduled practices in order to attend graduation and must also attend the “Senior Assembly” on June 4.
