Soup with the Superintendent with Black/African American Families @ Kraxberger Middle School
Oct 21 @ 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm

Gladstone School District is in the middle of an intensive public involvement effort to discuss student needs as we plan for an added $1.4 billion in added annual funding through the Student Success Act.

We want to be sure Black and African American families have a voice in this process, because equity, achievement, and life success for your children is our goal. Supporting the needs of under-represented and historically disadvantaged groups is the most important focus of this work.

We are planning a special evening just for you. This casual, small-group conversation will be different than the meetings we’ve been having in each school. This event will be led by Daryl Dixon, a Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion expert who raised his own family in Clackamas County. Superintendent Bob Stewart will be there to listen and learn about your family’s experience in Gladstone Schools.

Please let me know by email reply if we can reserve a place for you and any family members who wish to participate, including your secondary students. We will provide dinner and childcare, but need a head count to plan for this.
