To celebrate the start of the school year, the Gladstone School District honored a total of six staff members who won Thank a Teacher or Making a Difference awards at our staff's Welcome Back event on Aug. 27. To recognize their outstanding contributions to our community, each of these staff members received $250 from a Gladstone Education Foundation endowment.
Making a Difference Award winner Nohemi Saldaña knows and cares deeply about the wellbeing of Kraxberger Middle School's staff and students. As the school's head secretary, Saldaña is a ray of sunshine and a welcoming (and very enthusiastic) voice for everyone who comes into the office.
Not only is she incredibly fun, she is also a master of her job. She is highly organized and understands the importance of her role. She has become a go-to for many of our students who just want to know that there's a caring adult who will advocate for them and support them. She connects with many of our bilingual students in their home language and usually has a piece of candy too.
