GCCF

What a fun afternoon at the Gladstone Center for Children & Families! Parents were invited to join their kids on May 1 for a special set of activities involving Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics.

Together they built structures like planes, houses and bridges out of paper, plastic, Play-Doh, popsicle sticks and more. Another exciting activity involved kindergarteners folding together boats out of tinfoil to see how many pennies each design could hold. As the students counted out their pennies into each boat, they often surprised themselves by how high they could go.

Center staff provided a scavenger hunt to encourage families to try out everything on offer, including the games on the playground and books in the library.

We're already planning out GCCF's next community activity, a Spring Fling with free pizza, planting seeds, face painting, crafts and family resources.
