You can help with our Adopt-a-Family effort in Gladstone

As the holiday season is approaching, many families in our community are in need of assistance. You can make a difference by donating toys or nonperishable food as part of the Gladstone School District's Adopt-a-Family program.

We have many partners in the effort to thank. They include GSD school counselors, Clackamas Fire, Gladstone City Hall, Gladstone Police, Gladstone Library/LINCC, Clackamas Bookshelf, Gladstone Oak Lodge Rotary, Kiwanis Club, the Sunshine Division, Happyrock Coffee and Clackamas County Toy & Joy/Compassion in Action.

Members of Gladstone High School's Associated Student Body and National Honor Society are helping organize donations into boxes that will be delivered to families on Saturday, Dec. 21.

All donations should be placed in the labeled bins at the front of GCCF, John Wetten Elementary, Kraxberger Middle School or Gladstone High School by Friday, Dec. 13.

Some especially needed food items are bread, canned meats, oatmeal, quick meals (instant mac and cheese, peanut butter and jelly, canned soups or chili).

If you would like to help deliver food and toy boxes to families on the morning of Dec. 21, please email shinaults@gladstone.k12.or.us to volunteer.
