John Wetten Elementary fifth grader Jordyn Mouton visited Salem on Jan. 16 as one of only six kids statewide named to Oregon's Kid Governor Cabinet for her platform: Raising Awareness Against Discrimination and Racism.
“Someone who is discriminated against could struggle to find something to say. If you see that, then you should stand up for that person and say it’s not OK,” she said.
Thank you to all Gladstone teachers and staff who helped her become the outstanding advocate for change we see today.
Former Chief Justice of the Oregon Supreme Court Paul De Muniz delivered her oath of office. Oregon Secretary of State Tobias Read hosted the ceremony.
