Oregon's Reptile Man, aka Richard Ritchey, had a blast on May 9 with first graders at John Wetten Elementary School. Gladstone students loved getting their hands-on science lessons and were surprisingly fearless in volunteering to handle the snakes, turtles and other reptiles that Ritchey brought to the school. Ritchey has been showing his variety of reptiles across the state for over three decades and always enjoys coming to Gladstone.
This assembly was purchased using our grade level Move-a-Thon funds. The Move-a-Thon is John Wetten Elementary's fundraiser each fall that pays for special activities and field trips. Thank you to everyone who sponsored students to participate in our Move-a-Thon to make activities like this Reptile Man visit possible.
