Kraxberger sixth grader Jossy Vallejo appeared on KOIN 6 News on May 23, joining the Ballet Papalotl traditional Mexican dance troupe.
The Gladstone middle schooler can be seen on the video dancing with a white dress with dark blue stripes, preparing for performances at the Multnomah County Fair.
Founded in 2003 in Oregon, Ballet Papalotl's mission is to share the authentic culture and folkloric dance of Mexico with the Pacific Northwest to contribute to a more peaceful and harmonious multicultural society. Through learning Mexican folkloric dance, the group strives to not only remember the history of the Mexican people, but also the values and traditions of ancestors as human beings.
