Gladstone Police Department’s newest sergeant will be 2012 Gladstone High School graduate Sebastian Orr.
Recently, the police department held a very competitive promotional process for the rank of sergeant, according to City Administrator Jacque Betz, and Orr finished in first place after the process was completed.
"Due to scheduling, the earliest promotion date will be Nov. 10, 2024, and we are excited to move him into the position," Betz said.
Orr was hired in April 2017 as a Gladstone police officer and is known as a faithful community supporter. During his seven years working for the city, Sebastian has excelled as a field training officer and has a strong reputation for delivering quality service to the Gladstone community, Betz said.
Gladstone intends to formally swear in Orr as a sergeant at an upcoming City Council meeting.
