GSD bond forum

The first four community listening sessions were well attended with citizens and district families.

In July, BRIC Architecture completed a facilities assessment report for the Gladstone School District, revealing urgent facilities needs at all four of our school buildings. Applicable grants were used to fund the study.

Many of Gladstone’s more than 50-year-old schools have systems (like HVAC and roofing) at the end of their useful life, according to the report. Architects and engineers noted that various upgrades are needed to meet current educational and operational needs.

We solicited lots of feedback from citizens during the prior school bond process that Gladstone voters approved in 2006, and any future endeavors will have a similarly robust schedule for hearing from the community.

Each of our four schools hosted public listening sessions this fall. We plan to continue to solicit feedback from community members and report findings to the School Board in December.
