kraxberger health class

Kraxberger Middle School teacher Annie Cooper’s sixth graders relished the opportunity to participate in a medical training day in the library on Nov. 15. Retired paramedic Flo Lennox taught the students how to stanch a wound, perform chest compressions and help a patient recover from a seizure.

Students took turns performing the roles of “patient” and bystander/rescuer. Students also made mini first aid kits to keep in their backpacks. First aid supplies were donated by Metro West Ambulance Inc., where Lennox worked prior to her retirement.
